+ RESILIENT is a project that brings together 4 helix partnerships in 8 Mediterranean countries to improve the competitiveness of socially responsible small and medium enterprises through innovation and to contribute to the creation of new jobs, especially in companies operating within the social economy. The aim is to stimulate the process of changing regional public policies in the areas of project implementation, which will lead to the inclusion of successful elements in the new cohesion policy (EU2020 +).
The overall project goal is to positively adapt/modify and influence various structural elements of policies governing the emerging clusters with social vocation and responsiveness to foster technology-driven innovation, open data, and successful models with social relevance and impact. These clusters are usually locally oriented, while the project wants to move transnational through networking and the strengthening of data access to reach a critical mass of enterprises, increase the possibilities for SMEs in terms of enterprises mobility and of its employees.
The countries involved in the project are dealing with some common problems typical for the Mediterranean, like the ever-changing dynamics on the market caused by demographic changes, new technological advances, globalization, mismatches between fast-changing market requirements, business models and availability of human capital. In order to directly address these issues, social and digital innovations meet and work together to provide support to the emerging clusters (SVRCs) where open data and public sector information are of crucial importance for a better and more efficient respond to social needs.
