In 2024, Foundation Istria became the official representative and coordinator for the GivingTuesday global initiative in Croatia.

The GivingTuesday initiative began in 2012 with the goal of promoting philanthropy, volunteering, giving, and doing good deeds worldwide. It is now celebrated in nearly 100 countries, inspiring individuals and groups to support local and global philanthropic initiatives. The movement encourages year-round philanthropy through campaigns, events, and partnerships, fostering collaboration among individuals, nonprofit organizations, local government units, and businesses to address social challenges.

GivingTuesday provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations, businesses, and institutions to demonstrate their commitment to philanthropy, helping others, and giving through various actions, such as donating, volunteering, and participating in media campaigns. Participation can be simple, and every initiative, no matter how small, can have a meaningful impact. Partners can choose the extent of their involvement, whether by organizing donation activities or sharing positive messages on social media.
