For the fourteenth consecutive year, Zaklada Istra – Fondazione Istria launched the "Small Projects for a Better Tomorrow" call in February 2024, with the aim of supporting the development of local communities and preserving Istrian identity, traditions, culture, and customs. In collaboration with the municipalities and cities that are members of the Fund of Cities and Municipalities – Buje-Buie, Labin, Novigrad-Cittanova, Pazin, Vodnjan-Dignano, Poreč-Parenzo, Rovinj-Rovigno, Svetvinčenat, Vrsar-Orsera, Marčana, Ližnjan-Lisignano, Medulin, Funtana-Fontane, Lanišće, Tar-Vabriga-Torre-Abrega, Vižinada-Visinada, Tinjan, and Barban – a number of successful projects were carried out, having a significant impact on communities across Istria.
According to the results so far, in 2024, more than 15,000 users participated in the implementation of the "Small Projects." Additionally, 270 volunteers contributed a total of 2,168 volunteer hours, showcasing the community's strong engagement. These results confirm that, through collaborative effort, "Small Projects" can have a powerful impact on improving quality of life, preserving cultural heritage, and strengthening social bonds.
We thank everyone who contributed to achieving these goals and look forward to 2025. In the new year, we will continue supporting projects that enhance our communities. Get ready for new ideas, opportunities, and challenges, as we believe that 2025 will be an even more successful year for the development of local communities and the preservation of Istrian identity.
