Signed contracts for financing "Small projects for better tomorrow"

In the past week, the Istria Foundation has signed agreements with 9 civil society organizations from Istria - associations, institutions, and local councils that have been awarded funding for their projects through the "Small Projects for a Better Tomorrow" competition.

The official signing of contracts took place in the presence of mayors, heads of local councils, and other representatives from Istrian towns and municipalities, members of the Fund of Cities and Municipalities where the small projects will be implemented, including Pazin, Svetvinčenat, Marčana, Buje-Buie, Novigrad-Cittanova, Rovinj-Rovigno, and Labin.

The contracts were signed with the following organizations: "Naša djeca" Pazin Society, Lindar Local Council, Juršići Elementary School, Volunteer Fire Department of Marčana Municipality, Buje Kickboxing Club, Zdravi Novigrad Association, Rovinjske njuškice Society for Animal and Nature Protection, Labin Healthy City, and Labin Art Express XII.

Through these small projects, a range of important community activities will be financed: pond restoration, renovation of children's playgrounds and future exercise areas, purchase of wooden garden beds, nature school activities, organization and hosting of puppet shows, education on the importance of preserving a healthy ecosystem, children's playground construction workshops, carpentry workshops, mental health preservation workshops, workshops on reading and writing in the local dialect (Cakavian), educational pljočkanje workshops, installation of insect hotels and birdhouses, and many other activities involving citizens in the development of the local community, thereby improving their quality of life.

This is a great opportunity for citizens to get involved in CSOs activities, express their needs, and suggest activities that should be implemented in local communities through such small projects. CSOs provide additional free activities for citizens for both leisure time, including various educational programs, workshops, and courses that citizens would otherwise have to finance from their own resources if it weren't for these small projects.

The Foundation has been organizing this tender for the fourteenth consecutive year, supporting a total of 172 projects with a combined value of €303,769.23 over this period. Over 4,598 volunteers have been involved in implementing these small projects, benefiting over 432,000 users.

Join the activities of small projects in your local and wider community, which will be implemented until the end of November 2024!
