GivingTuesday Summit in Istanbul
From February 16 to 19, the GivingTuesday Summit of the European branch of the GivingTuesday initiative took place in Istanbul. Last year, Zaklada Istra - Fondazione Istria became the organizer and coordinator of GivingTuesday activities in Croatia, making this event an excellent opportunity to connect with other European organizations that share the same vision.
The key topics discussed included:
- Networking and collaboration
- Strategy and direction of the GivingTuesday initiative in the European context
- Methods for collecting data to measure the initiative’s impact
- Challenges faced by the initiative in times of crisis
- Joint planning of future activities
A significant part of the Summit was dedicated to showcasing good and innovative practices from around the world. Specific topics were explored in depth through breakout sessions to collaboratively address challenges. Discussions covered the role of youth in philanthropy, effective communication strategies, community engagement, corporate partnerships rooted in generosity, the integration of philanthropy into the European social and political landscape, and the transformation of the GivingTuesday initiative into a year-round movement.
In December 2024, Zaklada Istra coordinated and organized Giving Week activities (December 2-8, 2024). In 2025, we plan to engage even more organizations and organize even more activities to promote generosity in Croatia in every sense of the word!
The Summit was an excellent opportunity for networking and an inspiration for how the GivingTuesday initiative could evolve in Croatia!
