Launching a new EU projekt "+Resilient"
The new European project "+RESILIENT: Mediterranean Open Resources for Social Innovation of Socially Responsible Enterprises" was presented at the press conference, held on Thursday 20 September at the headquarters of the Istria Region in Pula. The Foundation will implement the project with the Istria Region and the Veneto Region as the lead partner.
According to the Deputy Head for International Cooperation and European Affairs of the Istria Region Ivana Dragišić, the project involves 14 partners from 8 countries of the Mediterranean area. At the moment, the project is in the first phase, will last for four years till the beginning of 2022. Its’ total value is 24.4 million Kuna, of which 2.7 million is intended for users from Istria. The project encourages innovation with the aim of strengthening the competitiveness of socially responsible small and medium enterprises and opening new jobs with particular attention to entrepreneurs working in the field of social entrepreneurship. The social entrepreneurship represents 10% of all jobs in Europe with 11 million employees.
The director of the Foundation for partnership and civil society development, Helga Može Glavan, reminded how social entrepreneurship can make a significant contribution to the achievement of strategic objectives, in particular social cohesion, the fight against poverty, the increase in employment, the creation of new products, competitiveness, conservation of resources, heritage and biodiversity protection. The project with a 4-helix partnership, collaboration between the civil, public, business and scientific sectors will look for innovative solutions for the problems of local communities.
We are talking about an integrated project with a structured approach, aimed at improving public policies and the dynamics inherent in social innovation based on the use of open data and the creation of a socially responsible transnational value chain.
Some of the project activities:
- - Mapping of the interested parties, analysis of the current situation, existing initiatives and models
- - Analysis of open data available
- - Exchange of knowledge and good practices, 8 study visits and networking
- - Implementation of the pilot action
- - Formulation of proposals for the improvement of public policies
The project was approved for funding through the Interreg Mediterranean Program 2014-2020. from the European Regional Development Fund and the IPA funds.
