Presentation of the local youth Program and the SOS project
On the 23rd of August at the Town Hall were presented the local youth Program of the city of Pula 2018-2020 and the SOS project for youth. The presentation was attended by Mayor Boris Miletić and the senior professional collaborator of the Administrative Department for Culture Lena Radunić, the president of the Association for Youth and Alumni FET Pula, Kristina Rabar and the Director of the Foundation for Partnership and Civil Society Development, Helga Može Glavan.
The local youth Program of the city of Pula is one of the city's strategic documents, created by the young people through workshops and focus groups. The content of the Program is in accordance with their needs and interests and includes five important areas of youth life: namely education and training, placement on the labour market and youth entrepreneurship, youth health and social policy, the active participation of young people in society, the culture and youth leisure time. Kristin Rabar, president of Youth Association and Alumni FET Pula, presented the SOS project (Socialised, be aware, self-employed) which includes three of five areas from the Local youth Program: education and training of youth, active youth participation in the society and position in the labour market and youth entrepreneurship.
Helga Može Glavan, Foundation director emphasized the importance of co-operation between the public and civil sector through projects and the empowering of young people to make them more active in their community. The Foundation will, through the project, implement the activities of youth empowerment for the development of social entrepreneurship, innovation and self-employment of young people in the social field.
The project duration is 2 years, from May 18, 2018 to May 18, 2020 lead by the City of Pula, while the project partners are the Youth Association and the Alumni from the Faculty of Economics and Tourism in Pula, the Foundation for Partnership and Civil Society Development, and the Foundation Slagalica from Osijek.
City of Pula, for the implementation of the project, received the maximum amount of HRK 699,574.79, funded from the European Social Fund and the Ministry of Demography, Family, Youth and Social Policy.
