On Tuesday, June 18th, we held a meeting with representatives of the members of the Cities and Municipalities Fund at the Grimani-Morosini Castle in Svetvinčenat. Our intention is to organize a joint meeting every year to review the results and discuss possible improvements to the Cities and Municipalities Fund and its competition together. Representatives from the City of Labin, City of Pazin, City of Rovinj-Rovigno, Municipality of Vrsar-Orsera, Municipality of Medulin, Municipality of Lanišće, Municipality of Vižinada-Visinada, and Municipality of Svetvinčenat attended the meeting.
As the host, the Mayor of Svetvinčenat, a member of the Fund since 2010, Mr. Perković delivered the introductory remarks expressing satisfaction with the collaboration with the Foundation, having participated himself in the activities of a small project back in 2014. Furthermore, Ms. Silvija Jeromela Obrovac, the Principal of Svetvinčenat Elementary School, briefly presented the results of the small projects implemented by the school in 2012, 2014, and 2019.
The theme of the working meeting was to enhance collaboration between the Foundation and the members of the Cities and Municipalities Fund, focusing on gathering proposals to improve the quality and conditions of the "Small Projects for a Better Tomorrow". It was important during this meeting to reflect with the Fund members on the social impact of the "Small Projects for a Better Tomorrow". The members agreed that these projects provide an excellent opportunity for their fellow citizens to gain experience in project implementation and take the initiative to collectively improve the quality of life in the community, while also preserving Istrian tradition and heritage.
It was concluded that small projects are of utmost importance for the community, especially in terms of creating social capital, intergenerational connectivity, and volunteering.
Members put forward suggestions for potential improvements that we will be working on in the upcoming period.
