Philantrophy is IN! We celebrated "Good deeds day"
Foundation Istria in collaboration with students from the Giuseppina Martinuzzi Elementary School in Pula-Pola, joined in celebrating global event Good Deeds Day.
Specifically, at the city market in Pula, students created an atmosphere of unity and enthusiasm at a colorful stand, warmly welcoming passersby and offering them beautiful keychains and magnets we made from recycled materials at the Pula FabLab (Community of Technical Culture). These small artistic creations were not just products but also carriered messages of kindness and support, designed by students to inspire people to perform good deeds. It was also a great opportunity for the students, acting as investigative journalists, to conduct brief interviews with passersby, asking thought-provoking questions about the importance of kindness in daily life. The aim was to encourage passersby to reflect deeply on the importance of kindness and empathy.
This interactive approach prompted each individual to consider their own contribution to positive changes in the community. It was inspiring to witness how each person's small efforts merged into a significant, positive change. Through this initiative, the students raised 560 euros, which will be used to purchase solar lamps to illuminate the courtyard of the Giuseppina Martinuzzi Elementary School.
The event was made possible with strong support from members of the local community, Bauhaus Pula, which donated wooden boards for making magnets, and the assistance of Professor Filip Šugar and Patrick Kovačević student from the Technical School Pula, who generously shared their knowledge of using 3D and laser printers. Thank you!
World Good Deeds Day, celebrated on April 14th, was initiated by the international organization Good Deeds Day. Communities worldwide encourage individuals to actively engage in charitable actions, whether small or large, with the clear goal of performing good deeds and improving the quality of life in their local environments.
This initiative is not just a one-day event but a continuous need for solidarity and collaboration in building a better tomorrow. We are all aware that regardless of the scale of our actions, every good deed has the power to create a chain of positive reactions that transcends the boundaries of time and space!
Let's raise awareness about the importance of performing good deeds and enhancing the quality of life in the community, this time using recycled materials, because philanthropy is in!
