+RESILIENT – Study visit to Marseille

Two representatives of Foundation for Partnership and Civil Society Development participated in a Study visit to Marseille (France) at 12th and 13th of March 2019, regarding the +RESILIENT  project activities, in which are gathered 14 partner organizations whose aim is to stimulate social innovations and socially responsible enterpreneurship on the transnational level. 

The first Study visit day started by visiting „La Friche la Belle de Mai“, that transformed from the old tabacco factory into todays place of urban culture, and whose spacial capacities are providing the citizens of Marseille various contents, such as: integrative workshops for parents and children, sport activities, the Bookshop that contains art sketches of amateur artists made during the jail sentence, unconventional Theatre, galeries, coffie shop, restaurant, ecc.

Providing various activities, „La Friche la Belle de Mai“ gatheres all generation of citizens, and apart from the integration and coexistence, it's aim is to remove children from the streets and direct their focus into the innovative contents since the earliest age. There were also presented smaller projects, among which the unique innitiatives, such as production of furnuture and objects in use from different kinds of waste; cultivation of particular plant species in order to product protective packing material, linig different objects; supportive educational programmes intended to different start-ups, ecc.

Not far from the „La Friche“ it is situated „The Levat Garten“, non tipical garden in which the Citizens of Marseille have the chance to participate in cultivating different sorts of plants, fruits and vegetables. The place is gathering various age groups, and the Garden has also the therapeutic effect for different kinds of former addicts. 

The second Study visit day started by visiting „The Camp“, the modern innovation Centre, settled in the rural area of Marseille, and founded by cooperation of public goverment and private sector.    Behing the start-up incubator and The Fab lab, „The Camp“ is working on developing the new technologies, stimulating international cooperation, networking, stimulating the population of youngsters, by acting in a unique modern architecture surrounding in general community(is) interest. Apart from influencing on the international level, „The Camp“ is gathering different social categories:  non govermental organizations, politicians, artists, children and larger population  of Citizens.
