The 5th Multiculturalism Festival

The fifth multiculturalism Festival was inaugurated on June 7 in Pula with the ceremonial program, "song and dance through the rich cultural heritage of national minorities". The festival took place in the Tito Park from 7 - 9 June 2018, where different associations, communities and cultural societies of national minorities operating in the Istria presented the cultural creativity, songs, customs, culture and tradition of their countries.

At the festival was also presented the EDIC Pula-Pola, whose aim is to build new models of inter-institutional public communication about the European Union, with the aim of providing efficient support to citizens for the development of better economic and social conditions in Pula and the whole Istria peninsula.

The Festival of Multiculturalism is held with the purpose of promoting the Istria cultural richness and enriching the tourist offer in the pre-season period and with the aim of mutual respect through the strengthening of the cohabitation, which is also one of the foundations of the European Union. The festival wants to offer the opportunity to meet and present different cultures in one place and to celebrate ideals such as multiculturalism and tolerance. During the year, all over Europe different initiatives and events will be organized to bring citizens closer to cultural heritage and to get more familiar with it. The goal of the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 is to encourage more people to discover and explore European cultural heritage and to strengthen their sense of belonging to a common European space. The slogan of the European Year is "Our heritage: union between the past and the future". European cultural heritage allows us to understand better the past and to create a solid base as a starting point for a common future.

EU Direct-Pula Pula is an opportunity took by the City of Pula-Pula, in partnership with the Istria County, the Istria Development Agency Ltd. and the Foundation for Partnership and Civil Society Development, and presented a project under the European Commission's representation in the Republic of Croatia with a view to build new models of inter-institutional public communication about the European Union, in order to provide an effective support to citizens for the development of better economic and social conditions in Pula and all over the Istria peninsula.
