The 10th Anniversary of “Our contribution to the community”

The Foundation for Partnership and Civil Society Development celebrated the 10th anniversary of the public tender "our contribution to the community". This is a tender that the Foundation has implemented within the framework of the extended decentralized financial model for civil society development in the republic of Croatia boosted by the National Foundation for civil society development. According to this decentralized model, the competition was run by the regional foundations: Slagalica Foundation from Osijek, Zamah Foundation from Zagreb, Kajo Dadić Foundation from Split and the Foundation for Partnership and Civil Society Development from Pula. Each regional foundation carried out a tender in a pre-determinate area and different counties. The Foundation for Partnership and Civil Society Development implemented it in the areas of Istria, Primorsko-goranska, Lika-Senj, Karlovac, Sisak-Moslavina and Krapina-Zagorje County.

During these ten years, 202 civilian actions have been supported, with a total value of 2.5 million Kuna, bringing however a much greater value to the communities where they have been conducted. The value of these actions is reflected in the involvement of citizens, various organizations, associations, local institutions, entrepreneurs and more than 4790 volunteers to whom, even on this occasion, on the International Volunteer Day, we wanted to thank for their contribution to the development of local community. All actions have enriched the quality of life in the local community and bring benefit to 239 671 citizens. The Foundation director, Helga Možé Glavan, in her introductory speech highlights the social importance of these civic actions, important not only because they have prepared the conditions for equipment supply or to make minor infrastructural works to create or maintain social contents, but also because a series of social contents were held as workshops, courses, schools, exhibitions, work actions, school gardens, dry-stone walls ... different activities that involved all the members of the community.

The Vice-President of the Istrian Region, Mrs. Sandra Čakić Kuhar, greeted everyone in the name of the President of the Region, Mr. Valter Flego and emphasized the special value of the synergy of the public and private sector and how it contributes to improve the community life quality. She also especially thanked the Foundation and the organizations that have conducted civic actions. The deputy mayor of the city of Pula-Pola, Mrs. Elena Puh Belci, thanked the Foundation for "giving altruistically to each human being" and pointed out that she is expecting a good collaboration in the future.

On this occasion the results of ten years of successful implementation of civic initiatives were presented at the Valli cinema. A 5-minute movie was inaugurated in which some of the actions of these ten years are briefly represented. After the movie, all the participants had the opportunity to hear concrete experiences of those who have successfully completed the civic initiatives:
